* SARAH (me)

Hi! I'm Sarah and I try to blog as much as I can in between wiping mouths, scheduling appointments and working full time. Way back before the blogging days, I was a high school dancer, baton twirler and tennis player. I then attended the University of Kansas where I was your typical sorority girl and waitress attending the majority of my classes but choosing to sleep in once and a while. Senior year was when I met Derek and life as I knew it was over. After we graduated, we moved down to Florida where I began my career in the marketing field and he started law school. In 2004, once we were back in Kansas City for him to finish his JD/MBA, I was hired at large ad agency on the media team. Over the next few years Derek and I married, traveled a ton, rescued a couple dogs, moved up the ranks within our businesses, bought a house and I started this blogging journey. Years after it all started just for fun, it became an online pregnancy, then baby journal and a wonderful way to keep our friends and families across the country up-to-date on our happenings. Now it's something that I hope my children will one day want to read. A sort of online journal if you will! Life has changed course a few times for us, but after 6 years in Cleveland, Ohio and then 20 months in DC, we now reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and love it. I'm a full time, professional photographer specializing in newborns, children & families, headshots and seniors and absolutely love my career!

- I'm in my mid 30's but I'm still always carded at bars and liquor stores.
- I absolutely love popping out ingrown hairs.
-  I twirled the baton for 15 years. And yes, I've done fire batons.
- I have crazy skinny fingers. My wedding ring size is a 4.75 and slightly big.
- I'm an ESTJ per the Myers-Briggs personality test and fit the description to a T.
- If you spell my name without an "H", we won't be friends anymore.
- I gag when I hear the sound of styrofoam. Literally. It's the worst noise in the world.
- I was a vegetarian for a year. And then I drove by a McDonalds one day and it was over.
- I run a lot. Mostly so I can eat donuts. And cupcakes. And fudge.
- We had a camper growing up, and I'm pretty sure we traveled to 35(ish) out of the 50 states in that thing. It was awesome.
- I put ketchup on mac n cheese and eggs.

  10. Hi Sarah! Nice meeting you last night. I completely agree agree about people who don't add an "h" to my name. Ugh! There are certain homemade mac and cheese recipes that get the ketcup treatment. Did you grow up in a rural area? I feel like I've only heard of that combo in small towns (my hometown is <1000 people).

  15. Hi Sarah! Thanks for the comment on my blog. My husband is also from KC and we actually get back there several times a year. He grew up in Lenexa and went to KState. Small world! I work for Bradley Montgomery and he works for Young and Laramore in Indianapolis. We've been here for almost 10 years. That sounds crazy saying that "out loud". Look forward to reading your blog!!

  19. Ketchup on mac n cheese is awesome! I don't always do it but when I do, it's D-lish-city. And the sound of Styrofoam is absolutely awful, totally agree with you.

  21. Stopping by from Tucker Up, and I just have to say that you and I might be the same person, I HATE when people don't use the H, without the H our name just looks wrong. I only exercise so I can eat what I want. And that styrofoam thing is me to a "T". And I'm ESFJ, fyi.

  22. I need to start de-friending people that forget the "H" too. And I just noticed the Sarah above is the same way. Can't people figure out that S-A-R-A-H is the RIGHT way!?

  24. This is so cute! I need to write my "About page" but I feel like I would put people to sleep! Our hands must be identical! I have my ring sized at a 4.75, but it's meant to be a 4.25, but they literally can't size it down that small! So basically I never wear it. Ask me how many times I have just found it lying on the ground! eek!

  25. Stopping by and a new follower =) Thanks for taking the time to take a peak at my "space" too! Sounds like you're a well traveled individual! I'd love to get out there and travel camp! Oh and I can definitely pop all my knuckles ;) More like every bone in my body (or so it feels like!)

  39. Love your blog! And your name...and it's spelling! Too bad you're not still in KC...we could totally be BFFs! We both have little boys. And another babe on the way. And I, too, was a baton twirler. And my husband is a die-hard Jayhawk. And, like your hubby, he secretly likes the Bachelor(ette). Which I only assume means you do, too! Glad you stumbled across my blog and happy to have found yours, as well! :)
