Field Trips and Paddle Boats

I've volunteered on the last 3 field trips to be a chaperon and it's SO much fun. I get to listen to my big guy chat with this friends and watch him play. The last one was a 'neighborhood' field trip where we walked a little area in DC and chatted about things like the library, post office and other shops. We got a quick tour of a hardware store and ended at an ice cream shop!

That weekend it was gorgeous and we decided to paddle boat around the Tidal Basin and check out the monuments that way. The kids did great and looked super adorable in their lifejackets!

See the Washington Monument behind Ady's head??

Jefferson family selfie!

I had some crackers so, of course, we fed the ducks...

And saw some baby geese!

Another fun family day in the books for us!

Mother's Day 2016

Finally catching up on my posts and am up to Mother's Day! I ran a 4miler with the hubs and beat my goal time by 50 seconds.

This is my "I see the finish line and I'm going to pass this chick" face.
And I did...

Then we cleaned up and headed out to a brunch as well as a stroll around the beautiful Dupont Circle in DC...

Outdoors

Playing and eating outdoors is what we do in this family and I love it.
The kids do too.

And I love that they can now entertain each other...

More T-Ball

Just because he's awesome and looks so friggin adorable in his outfit.

We've had Ady at a couple games as well and she generally runs around with the other toddlers showing no interest in her brothers game. McDonalds french fries are way cooler.

Family Hike

A couple weekends ago we ventured out for a family hike and picnic on the Potomac to see a little waterfall. It was GREAT weather (before all those endless weeks of rain started) and a perfect family outing. Drew walked almost the entire time and was awesome the whole hike.

These 2 even held hands for a bit....

SO excited for summer!

Tuesday Randoms

This blog has been crazy neglected, but with a full time career, 2 kids and the city of DC to conquer, it's the last thing on my priority list. We were also in Cleveland  (kidless thanks to Mimi and Grandpa) for a weekend where I held a lot of photography sessions, we checked on the house and I got to catch up with some girlfriends!

And see one of my favorite kitties (our friends cat in Cleveland)...

Drew has been an official solo shoe-tier for over a month now. It was around 5 years and 3 months that it clicked and he never looked back. He's a champ and such a quick learner but it's bittersweet as it's the last thing he needed help with getting ready in the mornings. :(

We also had a cardinal family living in our bushes a couple weeks ago. We watched them hatch from little eggs and stick their heads up high when they heard mom.

Almost immediately one was missing and soon after the other 2 flew the nest. Not sure if that's normal for cardinals but it was a much faster process than robins!

Also, Bailey. She's THE best dog ever so she deserves a part of this random post. I refuse to admit she's getting up there in age and going grey.

T-Ball Update

Another parent snapped some pictures at the first game a couple weeks ago and I had to post them! My big boy looks like a 9 year old in some of these shots! So proud of how he's doing with T-Ball this year. We've had a lot of rain outs with both practice and games so he hasn't gotten to play too much but so far he loves it. And I love how adorable he looks in his outfit!
