Adalyn // 3 Years Old

Can't believe my sweet and sour little ladybug turned 3 years old on the 28th! Here are her stats from her well check this morning:

Height: 38.75 (87%)
Weight: 33.4 (76%
Sleep: 10.5 - 12 hours and is sleeping VERY well in her big girl bed!
Potty training: fully trained in the daytime as of a couple months but in a pullup at night
Shoe size: 8
Food: awesome eater except veggies
Liquids: mostly milk and water with some juice
Counting: up to 10
Shapes: prefers to color as opposed to drawing shapes but can draw a circle
Letters: can recognize 'A' but that's about it. :)

And now for the same questions I ask Drew each year on his birthday since he turned 3!

Favorite color: red
Favorite doll: Lucy
Best friend: Drew
Favorite food: cantaloupe
What do you want to be when you grow up: four
What makes you happy: pool
Where is your favorite place to go: pool

Thanks for being a little snuggle bug and a little lover for a few minutes before the sass comes back around. But even the sass can be cute and the little phrases you say like 'I need a little help over here' or using words like 'actually' make us smile daily. I adore when you play nicely with your brother and you love him so very much.

Big Girl Bed

I really shouldn't even type this because it will jinx it but this sweet girl has been amazing in her big girl bed. She goes down great, maybe getting out of bed once to potty, and sleeps all night long. One day she got up at 6:45am which I really can't complain about. There have been a couple days which she wakes up around 5:30 and calls my name but I speak to her through the monitor and tell her to go back to sleep for a bit and she does! This morning she even slept until 8:30am. :)

I snapped some images because she's just beautiful when she sleeps...

Summer Days

We're a few weeks into summer down here in Texas and having a blast. We go to the pool often, build forts in the house, play games and venture around the city when possible.

Also, milk mustaches are fun to show grandparents on FaceTime.

And we got new benches from Magnolia Home which the kids are LOVING at the island! They eat breakfast and lunch there and I anticipate they'll be heavily used throughout the years as well!

And yes, she's pantsless. She likes it that way. :)

Family Pictures

One advantage to being a photographer and being pretty plugged into the community is swaps! We get family pictures pretty often because others ask me to swap photos! So when my friend Kate asked me this spring I said sure! I had to post a few of my faves...

Camp Week!

Last week Derek started work and I had Drew in a robotics 4-day camp as well as Ady in 4 days of swimming lessons. I felt like a true SAHM running them all over town but they both did great and loved their activities. Drew was really in his element on the last day of camp when they presented their robots. He definitely is our STEM child! I'm kinda loving that July and August are slow down here for photography as we've been spending our time at the pool and around town doing whatever we want. :)

First 4th in Texas

The first few days in Texas were not really blog-worthy. It was unpacking and moving stuff around all day. My parents helped a TON with unpacking and thank goodness for technology to babysit the kiddos. We have had SO much stuff stored in our Ohio home that we hadn't seen in a couple of years and it's been so nice to have 2 major piles going... one for a garage sale and one for donation. Feels really good to start whittling down all of our crap!!

But on the 4th of July we decided to have a bit of fun and stop the unpacking. Derek and I got up early to run the community 5K. I actually PR'd with a 27:23 thanks to a flat terrain. :)

Derek's sister just moved to Dallas to start her medical residence and was able to join us for the 4th festivities!

The neighborhood also puts on a cute little parade which everyone shows up to...

And Ady officially moved to her big girl bed in which she's done AWESOME in. The earliest she's come down is 6:50 and she's slept all night each night. The best part? Her bed is my childhood bed which is adorable for her big girl room!

And my big sleeper who will be getting a new, larger bed soon too..

The neighborhood also has their own fireworks which we enjoyed with Gramma and Poppa!

And then pictures of my dad fixing and constructing. It's his thing and he always does it when he visits. The movers broke our nativity creche in quite a few spots but dad had fun putting it back together. And then the boys built some shelves in a little nook of our garage!

TEXAS!

On June 29th we got up early from the hotel and head over to the house to meet the movers. Everything that day went fairly flawless with the exception of some items breaking. Ugh. I guess that's too be expected with any move though.

I snapped this one of Bailey supervising the movers with a not too thrilled face. She had been in lots of hotels and random places in the 4 day journey from DC to Texas and was kinda over everything at that point.
