Cowtown Half Marathon

Drew did his first 10K last spring and has been wanting to add a half marathon to his distance. He's been training with some long runs for a couple of months now and got up to 9 miles. Their race was on the 1st and this was Derek's 5th year running the Cowtown half. He took it nice and easy since we have a full marathon coming up and Drew did great as well! It was great weather (the boys both said slighty too hot at 60 degrees) but it was MUCH better than other years when it's been in the 20s.

Drew finished in 2:06 and Derek in 2:13!

February Closed Out

We wrapped up February with fun starting with a date night with dear friends...

And then we spent President's Day down at the Bush Library...

Will and his buddies entered a school entrepenuer event by selling paper airplanes. It was adorable, they did a great job and their booth was quite a hit! You could purchase pre-made paper airplanes or puchase paper to make your own. You could race friends and the winner got candy. We also had a trophy for the farthest flight of the night!

Bingo at church!

And another date night with our sweet friends...

Marathon training...

And a cold start to one of Drew's golf tournaments...

Poor Ady needing a treatment on the way to dance. Allergies suck in Texas.

Chip the spider is still alive...

I had to run 13.1 solo without Derek since he had a half marathon with Drew. My 2 friends joined me for the entire thing and it was tough!

School lunches with Gramma and Poppa...

And we biked / golf carted to Dan's bagels for a yummy breakfast...
