Big News!

We are moving! Again! But this time away from snow and closer to our KS family. Come this July we'll be relocating to Ft. Worth, Texas where Derek accepted a position. There were 13 total applicants and it was super competitive so we are all VERY proud of him and can't wait to explore this new region of the country!

And in case you can't follow again, here's a quick recap of our journey thus far...

We do hope, however, to be settled in Texas for years and years to come. I'm SO over selling houses and re-painting every room!! :)

Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus

When I heard Ringling was shutting down, I immediately purchased tickets for their farewell tour. Although it pains me to support the caging of animals, I had such fond memories from my youth watching that I couldn't resist one last time. Needless to say, the kids absolutely loved it!

But now I'm glad all of the animals are heading to sanctuaries where they can live out their days cage free!

TopGolf

My parents got Derek a gift card to TopGolf last year for his birthday and we finally got around to using it! It was our first time and although you could easily and quickly spend tons of money, it was a blast with pretty good food! I honestly think it was my very first time swinging a full out swing. I LOVE mini golf but have never played a round of real golf in my life. Mid 30's isn't too late to start right?!

Cherry Blossom Kite Festival

The Cherry Blossom Festival here in DC is huge. Like GYNORMOUS. And awesome. They have events for weeks... one of which I knew I wanted to get to with the kids. They have a kite festival on the Washington Monument grounds and I knew they'd love it. It was crazy windy but the blossoms were in full bloom and the kids were super pumped to ride the bus and train downtown.

My Biggest Award Yet

Although I've had a lot of little features and 'awards' here and there, I officially have my biggest one yet for my photography career! I was named the 2017 Best Photographer by the Arlington, VA newspaper!! This was a voting contest in which someone must have submitted my name and enough clients voted. There are some newspapers that you can pay to 'win' but this is not one! It was a true contest and super awesome to win! This city has been amazing for me and this career. The sheer volume of clients I took on combined with the diversified clientele has been incredible and I will miss it dearly when we move this summer!

Her Babies

Man this one loves her babies something SUPER fierce. She MUST have all 4 to sleep and is such a momma to them. I love watching her nuture and take care of them.

Ice Cream Lovers

Both kids had the dentist but Ady sat in the big girl chair for the first time and did awesome! Thank goodness for being able to watch how easy Big Brothers handle the appointment. :)

Day in DC

We spent another day in DC a couple weekends ago taking in the Native American Museum that we hadn't yet visited. It was great with a delicious cafe full of authentic foods!

Then it was on to the arboretum to warm up and see some plants.

The last stop was the U.S. Capitol. The ropes/gates were open so we could get a bit closer than we had before and with the scaffolding down, it was time for a few more shots!
