For spring break this year we headed to Disney World to do ALL 4 parks! We built in a rest day in the middle of the 4 parks and also had 2 other days on the front and back of the trip. Uncle Bean came halfway to enjoy the second half of the trip with us and the kids were super excited. They wanted to hold his hand every time we were walking, they fought over who sits with him on the rides and they all just wanted to constantly be by him. I just adore how much they love him and it was so good for me too to have that time with him! My brother is and always was one of my favorite people to be around so it was just the cherry on top for the trip. We rope dropped a ride at each park getting up early (around 6:30) each day and although we had a stroller, no one actually ever took a nap. Will being only 5 years old did AMAZING lasting all day and really going with the flow. He wore a Happy Birthday button to the parks with his name and a '6' and got a lot of attention for that. We also purchased a magic band for him to make this trip even more special. He opened our resort door, let himself into the park and onto each ride and loved when it lit up throughout the days.
Here is my recap of each thing:
Caribbean Beach Resort - wonderful facility. We had a 5 sleeper room and it wasn't tight at all. We were able to take buses to 2 parks, ride the new Skyliner to 2 parks and although the pool was closed for renovation, we had use of the Coronado Springs pool down the street which was great.
Animal Kingdom - The Avatar ride that we rope dropped was AMAZING. We also loved the safari cruise but shortly after Ady fell while sitting on a railing and gashed up her eyebrow and bruised her face. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital where she received 5 stitches. Daddy went with her and they were back at the park and happy within 4 hours. The staff at Disney and the hospital were absolutely amazing and she was very well taken care of.
Epcot - We were there during some garden festival and it was our busiest park by far. We rope dropped the Remy's Ratatouille ride and while it was cute, it wasn't anything extremely special. Derek and Drew's favorite ride the entire week was the Guardians of the Galaxy ride at this park. We all 5 went on it not really knowing what we were getting into and I'm pretty sure Will was maybe a smidge young for how intense it was. I got a bit sick on the ride due to the sideways motion but it was pretty cool. Will LOVED test track and all of the other rides at the park.
Chef Mickey - We chose this as a character meal on our rest day. I was luckily able to push the date back a bit so that we could sleep in until 7:30 and it was super pricey but we all got to meet 5 characters and eat an AMAZING buffet. We also got to ride the monorail over to the Contemporary for this!
Hollywood Studios - We rope dropped the Rise of the Resistance ride at this park and it was AMAZING. Not intense, rather just cinematically awesome like you're on a ship and going through it. We loved everything about the Toy Story land, Will even wanted to ride Slinky Dog again and I absolutely love the Tower of Terror even though Ady didn't love it too much. Rock N Roller coaster was closed for renovations but everything in the Star Wars land was amazing. Will loved seeing Storm Troppers and the Mandalorian AND Darth Vader both actually spoke to him! We did all the rides in this area and I think they were Will's favorite.
Magic Kingdom - My favorite park. We rope dropped Seven Dwarves Mine Train and then headed to Tron. This was my favorite ride of the entire week. Ady's favorite ride was Space Mountain at this park and we rode all of the classics. I cried at the fireworks display as did Drew and when we got back to the resort he gave me a hug and with tears in his eyes said "thank you mom". It was one of the best moments of my life.
We ate SO much food and enjoyed all of the treats and drinks and walked SO many miles but it was completely worth it. The kids were all awesome and we can't wait to go back in a few years before Drew goes off to college.
We have hundreds of pictures but here are some...
