 Here's the comparison!

From Rec to Club

The plan with Drew was to stay with rec soccer indefinitely, but as with life things change. He felt he needed more of a challenge this year so we decided to play him 'up' an age level. He ended up with a team that has several new-to-soccer players and a dad coach that lacks the skills to develop the players. Much to my chagrin thus began our explorations of club soccer. He's practiced with 3 now for a few weeks and really really enjoys a specific club. Their keeper wanted to play on the field and since Drew is a dedicated keeper they took to him immediately. A few weekends ago they asked him to be a guest player in their tournament and Drew did awesome. They ended up playing a couple of top 30 in the COUNTRY teams in which they lost but Drew held down the fort fairly well. As I write this he was offered a spot on that team and most likely will accept. One kid is done with preschool payments and club soccer payments start. Ha! We know it's the right decision though if he wants to make the middle school team.

Ady's Rad Reader Award

Ady's teachers give out special awards to each student with an atribute they have. Ady received the Rad Reader award for being such a bookworm. Derek's book loving family is quite excited for her!

For posterity sake I did want to mention the tears we had on this day. Ady was awarded the A/B Honor Roll as she ended up with one B+ in science. Derek and I were SUPER proud of her but she noticed that all of her friends ended up with the A Honor Roll medal around their neck and got quite upset about it. As a parent it broke my heart. We know that she's a little sibling of an academically gifted child and we try constantly to remind her that A/B is just wonderful and really good grades but it's hard. I was actually happy that she got emotional about it as it shows that she cares and it had nothing to do with Drew. We made it a goal together to work hard in 3rd grade and earn that A Honor Roll.  :)

Pre-K Gradutation!

I'm really not even sure how our last tiny little baby is headed to kinder. He was JUST born and up screaming for weeks until we realized he was lactose intolerant. :) Somehow I made it through the ceremony without crying but it's still so surreal.

Enjoying a piece of cake from Gramma and Poppa for graduating!

Our preschool LOVES the ice cream truck and so do my kiddos!

Wills teacher, Ms Cristina, is truly and angel in clothing. Ady had her too and she really is just the best human being. The children are all so obedient with her and she's such a calm, positive force I don't know how she does it.
