Derek is my best friend and soul mate to whom I've been happily married to since 2005. He is one of the most loyal and genuinely nice men you'll ever know. (Trust me when I say he just can't get mad. It's a GREAT trait to have). He graduated from KU the same year as me and then we ventured down to Jacksonville, Florida where he started his JD/MBA career. After a year of that, we moved back to KC for him to finish up those graduate degrees and both of us settled down with two nice careers. A few years in, he decided to go a different direction from his banking career and now works for the federal government. This brought us to Cleveland where we lived for 6 years before moving to DC in the fall of 2016 for 20 months. We now reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area! I am so thankful for what he does for our family and our future and for how much he loves me. He is also the best father anyone could ever dream of and I'm so glad he is on this crazy journey with me!
- He is also in his mid 30's but slightly younger than me. I kinda robbed the cradle.
- He does not eat peas. Period. And he will spend 10 minutes picking them out of meals.
- He's a lefty.

- He played baseball in college his freshman year.
- He enjoys watching Bachelor(ette) with me. Shh...don't tell his friends.

- His brother is 6'10". He is only 6'0".
- He has had 5 knee surgeries on the same knee.
- He has shaken Nelson Mandela's hand.
- His eye sight is absolutely terrible... like even too bad for corrective surgery.
- He can't poop in public.

Haha, Derek is "only" 6'0...my husband is "only" 6'2 because his brother is 6'7.
ReplyDeleteA man that will watch the Bachelor with you is definitely a great guy! My fiance (somewhat) willingly watches Four Weddings with me and ends up getting sucked it every time :) I robbed the cradle too - only by 2 years. It's a good thing!
ReplyDeleteI'm slightly older than my husband too. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL! Small world! :) my husband is the same with onions! Hilarious! And he loves the Bachelor too!! Hahaha!! Gotta love them!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo jealous that he'll watch The Bachelor(ette) with you. I can't convince my husband!! :)
