William // 2 Year Update

My last baby is 2 today and what a way to spend his birthday! Ha! He doesn't know any different but being on full lockdown stuck with only his family is how he's rolling today. :)

Stats:
Height: 34 inches
Weight: 30lbs 12oz
Tidbits:
- For sleep you generally sleep from 8p-7 or 7:30am. You are an AWESOME sleeper and still nap most days around 2 hours.
- You're a great eater but love your carbs and fruits like most babies. You've been better about meat lately and if you can dip it in a sauce or ketchup you seem to love it even more!
- As far as your lactose intolerance, we've seen improvement! You're eczema has drastically decreased but your runny poo's still remain. We've been giving more and more cheese but still have you on lactose-free cow's milk as we're still not sure your little body could handle that much right now. Fingers crossed we can keep weaning you onto more and more dairy!
- Milk and water are still about 95% of what you drink with an occasional capri sun or other juice.
- You LOVE Winnie the Pooh and he, with Pete the little Panda coming in a close second, is your favorite.
- For toys you love everything. Trucks to legos to Ady's dolls and shopping cart. You can sit for the longest time with legos or kinetic sand and you love your water table outside.
- We can't count the amount of words you say now and you'll pretty much repeat anything we say. We've even noticed you picking up a few bits and pieces of songs and the alphabet!
- You are our snuggler. Content on anyone's lap, you'll hang out for a while unlike your brother and sister. You are a very happy baby that doesn't really have a mischievious side yet but if you get in trouble the tears and immediate need for a hug from Drew or Ady is adorable. They love giving you sympathy when you get scolddd for something. Overall though you really are a wonderful baby boy and we think extremely smart. You remind us so much of a miniature Drew with his love of legos and building and figuring things out.

LOVE YOU LITTLE WOOLY BEAR!!!

Coronavirus - Shelter In Place

As of right now we are technically on day 15 of Socially Distancing but also day 3 of Shelter In Place. This means you're not allowed to do ANYTHING except hit up the pharmacy or grocery store. It's extremely eerie when I do our grocery store run and the shortage of toilet paper has people on edge. Almost apocalyptic with the silence and people in masks and glove avoiding one another like everyone else has the plague. US just surpassed all other countries with total reported cases and schools were just pushed back to April 20th although lots of experts say we could be in this for a couple-few more months. We will get our official school work for Drew Sunday evening and already have guidance for Ady. Mentally I'm completely all over the board. One minute I feel like I'm nailing it and the next I start uncontrollably crying and feel a panic attack coming on. There has been yelling and hugs and time outs and laughs. It's a complete roller coaster and I've ALWAYS said I wasn't cut out to be a stay at home NOR a homeschooler. But, here we are with the rest of the world. There are MUCH worst situations so it's hard to complain but it's just. so. darn. hard. I'm trying my best but this is the most stress I've ever been under in my life. Trying to keep all 3 occupied, let along doing school work and learning something feels like an impossible feat. I've hit some minutes of depression but running and walking has kept me sane for now. I'm focusing on the silver linings like the weight I'm losing from working out so much and the relationship between Ady and Drew along with all the family time. Ady even took her training wheels off her bike and is doing awesome with that! Drew learning how to play monopoly and did really well and is keeping his chess up by playing with Grandpa and friends. We have a wonderful house (and in an awesome neighborhood), a full pantry and our health.

Coronavirus - Before Shelter In Place

Before our county decided to mandate 'Shelter In Place', we head over to Gramma and Poppa's house for another garage date. We stayed back from them but they were able to see Drew and Ady and 'hang out' while 6' apart for a while.

The teachers at our elementary also had a Care-A-Van parade where they all rode by and honked and yelled out their cars. The kiddos made signs and it was SO fun to see after a long week of being at home.

Coronavirus - Social Distancing

So the minute we got home from San Diego on Saturday, March 14th is when 'social distancing' began. As a country we were staying 6' apart, not gathering as a society and were supposed to not be going in public to retail, etc. Birthday parties were cancelled for children, social get togethers all cancelled and lots of jobs were moved to working remotely. Derek began working from home and the biggest thing of all was that schools were closed. We began that Monday the 16th homeschooling and being at home 99% of the time with the exception of our bike rides and walks around the neighborhood.

San Diego Part 2

After changing our flights to come home Saturday morning super early instead of Monday afternoon we were all bummed but trying to make the most of it. The rain stopped for a bit so we decided to get the zoo in. It was the other attraction we came out to San Diego for and I'm SO glad we got to go! We ended up having only a couple sprinkles and saw so many animals.

Then we all hit the hay super early for our 4:30am wake up call to catch our 7a flight home. It was a short and sweet trip but we are glad we made the decision to head home early and I think the kids still had fun. Lots of sweet treats, hotel treats, yummy meals and plenty of sites to see. :)

San Diego Part 1

This is super late as usual but life as we know it has changed. We're on day 15 of 'socially distancing' from others and are currently in 'Shelter in Place' as a county meaning we do nothing except get groceries. I wanted to update on our San Diego trip for memorial sake!

So we had planned on a full 6 days in San Diego. We arrived on the Wednesday that the country was starting to panic about Coronavirus but nothing had really been put in place and life was continuing as normal. We had a wonderful first evening there with glorious skies and delicious ice cream!

Day 2 we had planned to do Legoland, and still did, but only about 15% of the rides were open and we were drenched and cold all day.

We tried to hard to keep positive attitudes for the kids but in general it just sucked.

On the way back to the hotel the sun popped out and we stopped at the Midway to see it's size and beauty.

Then that evening we ventured into La Jolla to see the seals and it was AWESOME! There was probably 100 on the shore and we got within 5 feet of some!

That evening is when stuff started to happen and Derek began to flip out. I took the kids to the pool to enjoy an evening swim and they laughed and giggled so much.
