Easter Eggs

Our egg dying experience this year was probably the worst you could imagine. Dye dumped not once, not twice, but 3 times all over Mimi's nice table despite layers of paper and placemats. We had no vinegar so the colors were bland and eggs were falling all over. I have no idea how my mom had the patience to deal with us doing it as kids and won't be attempting anywhere next year except for outside.

And the kids will be naked.

We did know better than to let Ady dye eggs so she got the sticker sheet!

Except for the spillage, I think the little man enjoyed himself.

And no, there's no pretty 'after' picture like from 2013 since only about 6 eggs ended up surviving the ordeal.

At least I got pictures of Ady's awesome fat little fingers.

And I'll end with some flower shots from last week...

Reston Zoo

More like a glorified petting zoo, this old, tiny "zoo" was less than a 30 minute drive from us. Unlike most zoos, there are a ton of animals you can pet and see up-close and it has a drive through safari like area as well. I'm SO proud of my big boy for touching and feeding any animal including llamas and buffalo! The little one, on the other hand, was quite terrified of most of the animals and preferred to be in someone's arms to see them from afar. #oppositesinsomanyways

Catching Up

Wow. I've officially set a new record for the longest time ever not blogging... 16 days.
Oops

Let's catch up.

We've had some great weather which means a lot more outside time for the kiddos! I try to get out there as much as work will allow and enjoy the nice weather with them!

Drew's been working on mixing up the dirt in his vegetable garden that will be planted with Gramma when she comes into town in a couple of weeks!

Miss Independent is wanting to do her own things more and more. She can almost do her shoes though which is helpful!

But really, she just likes screwing up Drew's baseball diamonds.

They are cute when they run the bases though.

And the big one has been climbing nonstop. Trees, trees and more trees.

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

When my kiddos sit in a dark room but happen to place themselves right in the ray of light.

Running around outside in shorts and tshirts.

Spring flowers and sunshine.

My little man dressed up in game day gear!

Airplanes!

This past weekend Derek and I took the kids to a spot near DCA where the planes fly over just before landing. I'd say they are maybe only a few hundred feet above you and it's absolutely amazing. Ady was a bit apprehensive but Drew loved it! And I loved it! Can't wait to get back there for another picnic under the planes!

Life Lately

The blog has been neglected, just like working out and eating healthy but things are changing. The weather is changing. And that means more running and eating healthier. It's hard when life is this busy, but it will happen. For records sake, Drew is in basketball right now and Ady's weekly gymastics class just ended. Ady enjoys her one on one time with Mimi while Drew is in school and most afternoons both kiddos still nap. My photography business has absolutely blown up more than I could have ever imagined and I'm thankful for that. I'm also proud and glad. Proud of my work and glad corporate America let me go. In the end, this is turning out to be more money that I would have made years from now in the ad agency world and for that I'm glad. And thankful. And excited. It's not just about the money though... I'm doing what I LOVE. Like, really love. Snuggling babies during the week is what I'm made for. I hope my older self understands how lucky I feel when I look back and read this someday. :) And yes, that might sound like boasting, but it's more because I don't know if I'll enjoy this much success when/if we move back to Ohio. There are 3 times as many photographers, 1/3rd of the population and the cost of living is MUCH less so you do the math. Oh well, 2016 will be an awesome year and that's what I'm focusing on!
