Moon River Ranch

My parents wanted to do a little get away over labor day weekend since the kiddos had ZERO activities (shockingly). We didn't want to venture far but I had read about Moon River Ranch in Satin, TX and we all thought it looked great. They treated us to a 3 day stay where we both had a small cabin and were surrounded by TONS of animals. We took a safari ride to learn about and see all of the animals, rented an ATV, fished, swam, ate good meals, had s'mores, did some metal detecting, and visited all of the animals. The ostriches loved our family and visited often and the camels were so sweet. It was a super relaxing and nice getaway!

August Closes

For the first time, Will is doing TWO sports and it's a lot but he's excited to have daddy coach both! Derek is the main coach for baseball and the asst coach for soccer. Can't WAIT to watch my little buddy play.

This girl came home and wanted to stack cards. So random but holy moly she's so good at it. HA!

Changing Dance Studios

It was a TOUGH decision, but in the end we knew it needed to happen. Do I regret not moving her the year prior? Yes, but it is what it is. She was at the same studio for 7 years but the last 2 years was VERY halted in her growth. She was not being challenged or pushed and her spark was quickly fading. By the end of the season it was clear that change was needed. This is what she LOVES to do and it's what she wants to do 'forever' if you ask her. We explored some new studios and I was SO proud of my girl for overcoming being the newbie. Some of her friends decided to stay at our old studio because they were so scared of change and yes, regret with some of them is already slipping in. On the other hand, my girl fell in LOVE with a new studio. It's a much smaller studio but it's filled with VERY skilled an amazing dancers. She tried out and I was a nervous wreck. We did have a good backup plan in place with another studio but THIS is where she wanted to be. She ended up making the 'Core' (main) competitive team and was SO excited. Within the first few weeks her spark was COMPLETELY back. She is already at the studio 4 days a week and she's begging for more. We let her do 7 dances AND a solo so we'll have a TON on our plates but better now than middle school when she'll have a ton of homework. HA! It's been amazing to see her loved on, pushed and growing like crazy. It's just so wonderful when your gut was correct and your children thrive because of it. I can't WAIT to watch her shine on the stage.
