National Harbor

In our attempt to completely conquer the city before our time here is done, we made an impromptu trip to the National Harbor last weekend. We had wonderful crab cake sandwiches for dinner, enjoyed the huge ferris wheel and rode the carousel before topping the night off with ice cream! It was the perfect amount of family fun on a beautiful day!

3 Generations

I always try to snap a 3 generation picture when I'm with my mom so that Ady can see the progression as we all age! These were from their visit!

National Cathedral

On Saturday night we took Gramma and Poppa to see the National Cathedral and the beautiful garden next to it.

And miss little punk was being a pistol, but was still super cute...

We miss you guys tons this week!

Cherry Blossom Parade

My parents were a tad disappointed to hear that the cherry blossoms were long gone before they came out, but at least we got to see the parade! Although it was 2.5 hours long and we left a bit before it ended, the kids loved it. Ady especially loved watching the horse groups trot by and Drew loved the big balloon animals!

The we walked by a couple of sites and enjoyed more awesome weather!

Tiny Model

I thought she looked cute and wanted a good 20 month shot. Little did I know she'd completely pose herself for me. #photographermom

Circus and Planes

The circus was in town when my parents were here and I was excited for them to go with us! It was the kiddos first time going and as much as I DESPISE supporting something that has been linked to animal cruelty in the past, it's something I can't deny the kiddos from seeing. Thankfully all elephants are retiring in May so we were witnessing one of their last performances!

The tigers; always one of my favorites...

We also went to the Air and Space Museum. The kiddos and I had already been but since my dad was a pilot, I knew we had to take him back. I loved listening to him tell Drew all about the planes, pointing out those he had flown before!

Gramma & Poppa!

They are in town for a week and a half and the kids couldn't be more excited! Ady took a few hours to warm up but Drew has been on top of them non-stop since their arrival! My step-cousin is also in town for the weekend with her husband and we me them for dinner Saturday in Georgetown!

The kids have worn out the grandparents playing in the house and yard...

And my dad's become quite fond of Drew's vintage Sega Genesis system...

We also got Drew's veggie garden all planted and secured from the deer and fox! I remember how exciting it was to pick veggies from our garden growing up and Drew seems to be just as into the whole process. Hopefully we get something from each of the items we planted!

We also planted sunflowers on another day....
